Chapter 1:

..For many decades, Africa has been portrayed to be the tomb and not the womb of greatness, the junkyard of the earth, a place where only few lucky dreams are valid. It’s more appalling to see the best description of Africa in mainstream media-The Safari, poor and malnourished children living in huts, vast uncultivated lands, and natives working in the mines, wars and corruption. There’s a wrong narrative of Africa’s past, a one-sided story of slavery as if Africa never had her own civilisation. These coupled with the wide absence of visionary and transformational leadership, weak and myopic policies and crippled implementation of the few smart ones, make it more difficult for a child in Africa to think of becoming a global giant! But in 2016, a ray of hope for the African Teens and youth was birthed, a team of young people inspired to make a difference in their immediate community embarked on a journey that has transformed over 42,000 lives and still counting under the umbrella name Teens Hub Africa (CAC/IT/NO 157822). A subsidiary of Chartered Lights Ministry International (CAC/IT/NO 128712) under the active management of the Visionary Nation.

The story of our beginning as a family, ministry, movement and as an organisation typifies the law of process, the principles of patience and test of authenticity of every great vision. The first expression of our ministry dates back to 2006 while our pioneer was in High School. He got born again at the age of eleven (11) and God started stirring his heart towards reaching out to his peers in his school-St Thomas Aquinas College Akure. Having received training through the Youth Fellowship of his Local Church (St Luke’s Anglican Church Idi-Agba Titun, Akure, Nigeria) and the Scripture Union Nigeria.

He pressed on with his passion for souls from classroom to classroom after which he later founded Men of Passion for Evangelism Unit (MOPEU) in the first year in Senior High School (SS2) -a group of Christian boys committed to the great commission in the school. The group equally doubled as a music team singing Christian songs for the edification of souls in various student-based conferences and camps then. The burden again found clearer expression in 2012 after series of encounters and training while studying at the Federal University of Technology Akure. Many Secondary Schools in Akure City were impacted through the outreach program of what was then known as The World Changers Group.

Teens Hub Africa finally emerged around April, 2016 during a prolonged period of waiting on the Lord by instruction but was officially launched on July 10th, 2016 online by Mr David O’Dinla FAPOHUNDA in the city of Akure, Nigeria. This was shortly after the completion of his one-year National Youth Service Corps program in Jigawa State, Nigeria. The ministry pressed for her registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission but had lots of challenges with the process. However we got incorporated first under the umbrella name CHARTERED extension of our ministry and a living proof of our impact. You are forever treasured in our hearts. CHARTERED LIGHTS MINISTRY INTERNATIONAL (CAC/IT/NO 128712) before our main registration fell through in April, 2021.

Since 2016, we have by God’s grace maintained the same focus of reaching out to Teens and Young Adults, and training People Handling Teens (PHTs) to do the same effectively. We do these through the ministry of the word, prayer, and outreaches to High schools. We equally organize discipleship meetings, academies for teens and PHTs with the focus of raising a generation with a RECREATED SPIRIT, TRANSFORMED MIND and CULTURE for KINGDOM PROFIT and GLOBAL IMPACT. However, in 2022, the Lord gave us a new emphasis of ministry and that led to the change of our mission state to the one we are currently running with-Transforming young people with the truth into VISIONARIES, HIGHFLYERS, and KINGDOM INFLUENCERS for global and lasting impact.  

Today, we are filled with deep gratitude as we reflect on the strategic role, that God-sent Men and Women have played to make this vision the pearl it is today. Thank you for serving and giving to the Lord when it mattered most in this ministry. We pray that your seat and reward will not be missing in heaven in Jesus name-Amen.

We are equally grateful for every person whose life has been impacted by our ministry, thank you shining the light, thank you for spreading the truth and being an extension of our ministry and a living proof of our impact. You are forever treasured in our hearts.

There are more lands to conquer for the Lord, Africa has over 200 million teenagers, a population that is ever increasing. We cannot afford to rest on our past records, that’s why we are driving this hard, seeing what weight is upon us. We hereby would love to invite you to join us on this journey today.
